Privacy policy

Effective October 14, 2026

RecallGuard is provided by Too Many Toys LLC under the Made Useful Studio name. Contact madeusefulstudio@gmail.com with privacy questions or requests.

No account required

The app has no accounts, profiles, comments or uploads. We do not request your name, email, contacts or precise location to use it.

On your device

Interests, bookmarks, notification preferences and digest history remain on your device, without personal cloud synchronization. Android backup and device transfer are excluded. Remove bookmarks in the app, or clear app storage or uninstall to delete local preferences, saved details and cached public information.

Searches and network requests

Search terms, scanned or entered barcode values, category filters and requested recall identifiers are sent to our Firebase service to retrieve public notices. Requests expose your IP address and technical information to the service provider. We do not create a personal search-history database or link queries to an account. Google may process operational, security and diagnostic records to provide and protect its services.

Barcode scanning

Google Play services processes camera images on the device. RecallGuard does not receive, upload or store those images. The resulting barcode is sent to the recall service to search for matches. Manual entry is also available.

Advertising

Google AdMob banner ads may collect and share IP addresses (used to estimate approximate location), advertising and other device identifiers, app/ad interactions, and diagnostic or performance information for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention. We do not supply recall searches, barcode values, bookmarks or interests to AdMob as targeting data.

Where applicable, a consent form and Settings → Ad privacy choices let you manage advertising choices. Android settings allow advertising-ID reset/deletion and other advertising privacy controls. Technical data may still be processed for non-personalized ads. See Google privacy policy and Google partner-app data practices.

Firebase and security

RecallGuard uses Cloud Firestore and App Check with Play Integrity. App/device integrity information helps protect the service against abuse. The app does not include Firebase Analytics or Crashlytics. Traffic to our services and the advertising SDK is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.

Notifications and sharing

The optional daily digest runs on your device. There is no cloud notification token or personal mailing list. Turn it off in RecallGuard or Android notification settings. Android may delay delivery. When you share a recall, Android passes its title, details and official link to the app or recipient you choose, whose privacy practices apply.

Support, retention and deletion

Emailing support gives us your email address and message. We use it to respond and retain it as needed for support and applicable legal obligations. You may request deletion by emailing us. Please do not send passwords, health records or other sensitive information.

There is no app account to delete. Clear app storage or uninstall to remove local data. Public recall records remain in our reference catalog. Google controls retention of its operational, security and advertising records under its policies; clearing app storage does not delete those records. Contact us about a privacy request and we will explain what we can identify and act on.

External sites and audience

Agency notices and external links follow their own privacy policies. RecallGuard is for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. It does not provide medical advice or personalized health services.

Changes

We may update this policy as our services change. The effective date identifies the current version.
